Meeting Sites Resource

Cheryl M. Rivas, CMP, is a Director, Accounts & Global Meeting Management Services at Meeting Sites Resource (MSR). She has been with MSR since 2004 and is responsible for strategically partnering with MSR customers on all facets of global site research, custom hotel contract negotiations and meeting support services. She also serves on the MSR Executive Committee, which focuses on a multitude of company strategic initiatives.

Cheryl earned the prestigious Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification in 2007.

She also contributes articles to many industry trade publications and speaks at industry events on topics such as Strategic Meeting Management (SMM), Hotel Contract Negotiations Strategies and How To Demonstrate Real Meeting Value To Senior Management. Additionally, she speaks at college universities on a multitude of meeting planning topics, helping mentor students interested in our industry.

Cheryl holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Fullerton with a major in Communications with an emphasis in Hospitality & Tourism.

Cheryl currently serves on the MPI Orange County Chapter - Board of Directors as President and is responsible for overseeing the operations of a 19 member Board and 350 members Chapter.　 She has served in numerous MPIOC Board positions including President-Elect, VP, Communications, Director, Advisory Council and Director, Monthly Programs.　 She has received awards for her outstanding leadership and was recognized as MPIOC’s "Shining Star."
